Is my file uploaded?
No — background removal happens entirely in your browser on an HTML canvas. The image is never uploaded to a server.
FAQ
- Does this work on any photo, or just signatures?
- It works best on images with a single flat, even-colored background — signatures on plain paper are the ideal case. It won't cleanly separate a subject from a complex photographic background (like a person against a busy scene), which needs a different kind of tool (AI-based segmentation) that isn't included here.
- Why is there still a faint edge around my signature?
- Scanned images often have soft shadows or anti-aliased edges. Try increasing the tolerance slightly, or make sure "Soft edges" is on for a cleaner blend rather than a hard cutoff.
- What if my paper isn't pure white?
- Use the color picker to sample or set the actual background color (e.g. a cream or light gray) instead of the default white — the removal will be far more accurate.
